1.1 P1 Proposal (LO1 - Unit 3)
I♡LP Audio-Visual/Graphics Proposal
Tom Whittick | February 25th, 2021
Type Of Proposal - my culture campaign for Unit 3 will be a series of online advertisements, which will promote Liverpool as an international tourist destination.
Form/Genre - there will be a website, social media channels as well as pop-ups/billboards, which will be visually appealing and will promote Liverpool as a great place to visit, as a global city.
Elements to include-
Interactive website
Social media (Twitter, Instagram etc.)
Billboards/pop-ups
Narrative Synopsis
The campaign will have an enthusiastic, colourful aesthetic and we will be aiming to appeal to as many people as possible, through the interactive, fast-paced user interface (UI). Both the website and the social media pages will be vibrant and welcoming, showing off some of the best things Liverpool has to offer, with a structured layout and theme. For the graphical elements and billboards/pop-ups, I♡LP will carry out the same effect using similar techniques, aiming to be as user-friendly as possible.
Content
The content itself will be promotional for the city, but also engaging for our audience, on the website and social networks. The font style, colours, imagery and overall layout will reflect the vibrancy of the city - Liverpool is a coastal city, with some of the tallest buildings in the country, so we will have a modern, scenic website to carry the aesthetic over to our campaign. The graphical content will have a similar aesthetic, but will have to include some sort of punchline or include unique content, which will try to set it apart from other billboards/pop-ups, so that it has an advantage over the competition. The content itself will promote Liverpool's; tourist spots, history, musical history (e.g. The Beatles), shopping, eating, sports facilities and franchises (e.g. the stadiums and Arena) as well as public transportation options, for tourists.
Target Audience
The target audience for the content will be "E" for everyone, or a "U" for universal for the BBFC rating, which will be the most relevant rating for the UK territory. Liverpool will be promoted as a city that offers activities and options for everybody, of all ages, as well as a city for both genders and all ethnic backgrounds/beliefs, as the content will stay way clear of potentially inappropriate/unsuitable or offensive material, which we will have to do so that it can be deemed suitable by the ASA and BBFC.
Resources/Personnel
For the campaign, we will need a suite of editing tools, which can be accessed on most platforms - I will be using a computer in order to create, review and analyse content and make sure that the site and services do the required tasks. All of these tasks can be done by myself, including acquiring photographs and other content, so that we can successfully launch the campaign and have it thrive, as much as possible.
Distribution and Marketing
To make the website, I will be using either Blogger or WiX, so that the site can be created easily and quickly, whilst also meeting and exceeding the requirements; the link to this website will have to be easy to remember, as well as not too similar to other links, so that people can access it easily. For the social media channels, we will be using both Instagram and Twitter, so that we can announce things as well as promote activities/events, with access to a mass audience. The billboards and pop-up ads will be funded via the monetization of the website and will try to use Google's marketing tools, such as AdSense, to show ads to the relevant markets.
