How I created the ‘Shot on iPhone’ Print Ad

Using the app ‘BeFunky Editor’ on my computer, I made a print version of my ‘Shot on iPhone by Tom W’ campaign.

This involved gathering content off of the internet, specifically Google, to acquire the Apple Logo PNG image.

This is the promotion-

In the previous post on this promotion, I analysed the form and purpose of it. In this post, I am showing how I made it.

Here is the software involved-
  • Befunky Editor
  • Google Images
  • Photos
  • Blogger
Here is how I made it-

1. Using Photos to select the focus image. I opened photos and clicked on my ‘Madrid 2020’ Album and selected the photo that I wanted to use...

2. I created a blank canvas in BeFunky, to look like a frame which would go around the image I chose. The resolution is 2560x1400, which is a common print size, used on many websites and magazines.

3. Next, I imported the Madrid photo into BeFunky and using the handles I resized it to make the white background look more like a frame than a ‘canvas’. I imported this photo in the ‘Graphic’ format.

4. Using Google.com, I got the Apple logo PNG image (since this is for personal usage, not to make a profit, I am able to use this trademarked logo) and imported into BeFunky in the same format as the Madrid photo, a ‘Graphic’. Using the ‘drag and drop’ tool, I repositioned the logo to the corner, which is something similar to what Apple themselves would do but also because our eyes are naturally drawn to the edges.

5. Then I added the text overlays using the ‘Text’ tool. These pieces of text are to further promote the product and also enhances the promotion. The font is ‘Arial’ and the colour is a dark gray (hex code is #A9A9A9) to match the Apple logo, adding to the aesthetic.

6. Exporting as a JPeG and importing to Blogger -

Using the ‘Save’ tool, I exported the file as a JPEG as this is a suitable, highly compatible format.

Now I have successfully created a print ad and met the purpose - for the legal, regulatory and target market information, go to my previous post on this promotion.
