I have chosen print as I generally do not create those types of products and, honestly, wanted to try something new. I have chosen Netflix as the subject as it is one of my favourite products to use, personally at home. In addition, I did research in order see how Netflix usually promote themselves and this promotion that I have made fits the purpose.

Using online editing tools, I created a billboard-style promotion for the Netflix platform. It includes a range of different font/text styles and colours as well as three third-party images, two PNGs and one JPeG image to make it look more 'legit'.

In addition, I also added my own 'branding' (''Parody by Tom Whittick'') at the bottom right corner in order to show this is my personal creation. The morale is to stay at home during the Covid-19 outbreak, in order to protect both yourself as well as the governmental health agencies.

Finally, the billboard is easy to read, understand the message and appeals to most audiences, with the use or irony - but this irony is justified as it is for a good cause.

AUDIO-VISUAL/VideoOnDemand/TV

For my AV product, I used the product 'iPhone' and the brand 'Shot on iPhone' to promote photography on the Apple iPhone...As well as video capabilities (including standard video as well as time-lapses, slow-motion etc.)

I used several mobile editing tools to create the video product, including the following;
  • iMovie
  • YouTube Music
  • Picmonkey mobile app (for creating the 'By Tom W' branding section)
  • Google Drive and Blogger to make the ad publicly visable
I learned a lot of skills when creating the ad; including syncing the soundtrack with the content transitions, trimming video/images to fit the video - the video was originally 2 minutes long, but I managed to trim it down to a more entertaining size, so that it wouldn't seem like just a compilation and actually was, in the end, a usable VoD/TV commercial

Finally, the trailer is 23 seconds long and contains a mix of diverse daylight pictures and low light situations, in order to promote the Apple iPhone as an easy replacement for a professional camera - all photos/videos where taken with my personal iPhone 8 and I selected them from the Apple Photos App, before importing them to the new iMovie project.

In conclusion, it is a simple advertisement with little meaning - it is just showing off the iPhone's camera as well as my photography skills - all the photos where taken across a weekend trip to Madrid, Spain for my birthday (from March 5th to March 7th).
