The advertisers have raised brand awareness for the Big Mac at McDonald's - they have associated the franchise with the NBA (targeting NBA fans worldwide). In addition, this also changes people's opinion and association of McDonald's as a great option for athletes who need a quick burst of energy.

They are also associating with famous NBA players in order to gain the respect/brand loyalty of their fans - with the appearance of Micheal Jordan as well as Bird (Christopher Claus Anderson)

Coca-Cola Summer Sound Radio Ad

This radio commercial promotes Coke as a great option for a summer drink - highlighting how refreshing it is, as well as the taste. They are promoting Coca-Cola as the best summer drink for most people.

This ad is also promoting the Coca-Cola app and its features - which is allowing the Coca Cola company to target a wider audience - the digital audience as well as the traditional consumers of the drink.

The use of relaxing, soothing music is also a reference to the summery weather which gets the listener in the mood for summer.

The idea is to associate Coca Cola with the summer as the ideal drink for hot weather.

The use of the ambient gradient is similar to some of the Macintosh screensaver themes and the macOS accent colors - the use of the iPhone X here promotes Apple's iPhone line, as well as the iOS platform and services in general.

The use of AirPods promotes Apple's Music line of products (other products in this range include iPod Touch, HomePod and the AirPods firmware operating system - this is also the OS which powers Beats headphones.

All of this appeals to both Apple fans and also benefits the company, as well. The use of special offers here also a way of bringing new customers and targeting a wider audience.
