Assassin's Creed Data

I have been asked to research the target audience of Assassins Creed, a mass market video-game franchise produced by multinational conglomerate "Ubisoft".

3 Ways in which Ubisoft France and Worldwide use their loyal fanbase to help them create games-

Assassin's Creed: Origins (2017)
(93% of people liked this game)
1. Pre-production - before release or even production, there are ways that Ubisoft can research in the market using quantitive data in order to determine the relevance and popularity of the game or topic they are going to create. This can include research and development (R&D), which allows the producer to forecast the popularity of the game. If this process is not done correctly the game will, in most cases, fail.

2. Production - during production, Ubisoft may offer voice actor roles to fans or even, in some case, produce teasers or "leaks". The response from the crowd in the form of qualitative data is of a primary source and is most reliable, which can help during the production process. This is important because they want to keep loyal fans and also attract more, so they need to maintain a positive reputation about the consumer product.
3. Post-production - during post-production, Ubisoft would have unveiled the product and now it is time to see the markets' reaction. A good way of doing this, for example, is by uploading a trailer on YouTube or any other social media site (or on a television commercial break, billboard or newspaper), then the reactions for the trailer can be recorded by looking through the ratings or comments on the trailer - if there is a serious issue with the trailer or the project altogether, the team can take the time to redesign the issue and reconfigure the product to make it better. An example of this way the poor reaction to the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie which ended up changing the entire appearance of the main character, for the better.

In addition, if the product eventually becomes a flop or just does not do as well as originally expected, the producer can try to determine, using reviews, questionnaires and surveys, what they did wrong and how they can try to improve on their mistakes in the future. This is also a form of primary research.
